I have cobol messages but I cant obtain the cobol copybook for them is there a tool out there that produces a copybook out of them?

Not that I am aware of.
I guess you need to feed some kind of info to the tool first so that it can define proper datatypes for each field. Its not difficult to create copybook if you know what is the data type and length of each field.
