I have the toolkit on my laptop, the Configmgr on an NT serve and the Broker on an AIX.
I can connect to the domain and I can deploy flows. However I cannot debug.
When I do the flow debug + Attach I get a list of all Data flow engines at that broker. When I select a dataflow engine, the data flow engine appears in the upp er left window, however the DFE does not expand the flows under it. Why?
I have a colleague at the office and he can debug OK, so it must be something with authority or similar.
We are both added to the appropriate user groups, I think.
Is the RAC and/or MDAC neccesary to have on the laptop to have this work?
All hints are welcome. |

You need to have RAC installed on the remote machines i.e AIX and NT servers in your case to debug your flows. |

And then it may still not work...
Update the toolkit, the RAC and the broker to the latest.
I have the same problem as you and I believe it may be due to the tool kit being behind. (Unfortunately I can't update it because of a corporate firewall.) _________________ Patrick Goodhart

thanks,
The ConfigMgr and the Broker are installed wiwth the latest version.
The Toolkit on my laptop has 5.0.0 Build 20030526_1707. The thing is
just that when I do a software update from inside the toolkit it says I have "pending updates", but I cannot select them form download since there are errors in them!!!
can anyone explain what is happening? |

Have you read the documentation that comes with FP4?
There are known issues with trying to update the Toolkit for FP4. The documentation describes those issues, and also describes how to fix them. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

After 2 millions of restarts, un-installations, re-boots, re-installations and re-everything, and after having had an IBM representative onsite we had to come up to CSD4 on all componentes. Now it works.
The exception is one guy who is sitting on other domain than the one where the broker is. Here it was impossible to have it work. We have found a workaround for that, but I must say that this with remote-debug is an area where I would welcome a stabilisation. IF there is something with incorrect versions, o something with security I would like to know that via an explicit message, not via a blank screen.
Thanks for all your support!
