Hi All,

I searched the group for info on the WBI installation. But I did not get exactly what I am facing.

I get the following error:

Unresolved dependency: Agent Controller Prerequisite has an dependency on Agent COntroller version 5.0.1

Unresolved dependency: MDAC Prerequisite has an unresolved dependency on Microsoft Data Access Component Version 2.7 SP1.

Can anyone please help.

regards

What version of Agent Controller and MDCA do you have on your machine? If you look at the readme/install file that comes with WBIMB you can find what are the prerequisite softwares and version nos.

As long as you have a later version of MDAC, you can ignore the warning message about the dependancy.

So, if you don't have MDAC installed at all, go download the latest, and install that.

I got similar problem on my Win XP Pro SP1. I have the MDAC 2.71 Sp1 from the Supplement CD, but it still reports unresolved dependency. I checked through the registry and it was not correct. The version showed in the registry was of the earlier 2.71.
I tried changing the registry entry (because I know I got the correct version) and WBIMB installation proceed. But I wasn't satisfied with this resolution.

I uninstalled WBIMB and try installing MDAC again. Same problem. Same situation with the registry. I noticed that while installing MDAC, there was no 'copying files' window appear.

So I donwloaded MDAC 2.71 SP1 and also its enhancement. Both does not work i.e., WBIMB installation still unsuccessful.

I got MDAC 2.80 installed and I can see that there was the 'copying files' window. Also the registry got written with the new version information. But WBIMB still reports unresolved dependency.

What I did next was to recover the original version of MDAC, by running the dasetup.inf file from c:/windows/inf/ directory. And installing MDAC again after that. (Note: after running this INF, the DB2 ODBC driver in the ODBC list goes missing - you need to reconstruct the registry entry for DB2 ODBC Driver, or reinstall DB2> I choose to reconstruct).

I can't remember how many I tried to work this out, before I finally managed to install without problem. I now run with MDAC 2.80 (registring as 2.80.1022.3. MDAC 2.71 registers as 2.71.9030.9)
