Hi,

I am trying to test MQ connection using SSL between a queue manager on Solaris and a Java client on Windows XP.

On Solaris:
========

- Created a test queue manager (TEST) and a server connection channel with SSLCAUTH attribute set to OPTIONAL.

- Created a key repository database using iKeyman command gsk6cmd, I then created a self-signed certificate

- Exported the certificate as type PKCS12

On Windows:
========

- Created a keystore using the keytool

- Tried to import the certificated exported above, but I get the following error: "Input not an X.509 certificate"
But when I viewed the certificate details in Solaris, it was shwoing as X.509 certificate V3.

Anyone knows what I am doing wrong here??

I did see some posts here but they were all to do with CA certificates.

Thanks

Are you using Internet Explorer to import the cert or how are you doing them import. Are you using amqcert?

P.S Wrong forum by the way

Vennela,

The only tool that can be used with java is keytool, and that's what I'm using.

Here is the link on how to use SSL
http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5196&highlight=ssl+tutorial

Based on the format you exported your cert, you should be able to use Internet Explorer and import the certificate. I have done this and this works for QMGR-QMGR communication. I don't know how to add a cert to some other repository though.
