Or in other words the maximum message size for MQ 5.2 on an AS/400.

I was told by a questionable source that it is 2gig.

The maximum length of a message is 100 MBs. This has been true since 5.0, and it is doubtful it will change in 6 - or at least, I'm prepared to be pleasantly surprised.

The 2gig number you heard was probably the maximum size of a QUEUE. Which may or may not be true - I've forgotten the details for 5.2.

I thought 2gig sounded kinda high. It's 100meg for MQ5.3 for AIX/Solaris/NT etc. so I was wondering how it could be 2gig for 5.2 on AS/400
