I'm running 5.3 on Win 2000........anyone know if/how/where you can configure the maximum simultaneous connections to a qmgr or per svrconn channel?
We've been getting a strange 2009 error and I noticed in the logs, the Java.Channel svrconn channel has "stopped abnormally" due to "AMQ9513: Maximum number of channels reached.". |

Under the MQExplorer, you look at the properties for your qmgr. On the channels tab, you'll have a MaxChannels and MaxActiveChannels. I believe the default is 100 and for MaxActiveChannels to equal MaxChannels. However, before you increase it, do you think you have over 100 channels active? Is it possible that your programs aren't issuing the disconnect call? |

I don't even have a Channels tab under my qmgr properties. Are you referring to windows version 5.3? I did however figure out how to use the cmd amqmdain to edit the registry and change the max channels attrib.
I was wondering if the app was somehow continuously issuing calls or whatever also. Thanks for the tip, I will check with the developers and see if maybe it's not issuing a disconnect.
Thanks again! |

I'll bet you are using the MQ Explorer.
Try the MQ Services console.

I guess that was an easy mistake to make since I pointed at the MQExplorer. Sorry about that. |
