Our client in Toronto, is looking for an MQ Series Administrator to join part of a global team providing 24x7 support for Middleware Operations and Configuration Management tools in a global financial services environment. The MQ Series Administrator responds to level 1 and level 2 support issues relating to MQ Series and configuration management tools for 3 major global locations in the Far East, Europe and North America. Responsibilities include alert monitoring, problem resolution (break and fix), request fulfillment (administration and set-up), documentation, issue tracking/reporting, automation, knowledge transfer, troubleshooting problem tickets called in by the user groups, and creating FAQs and maintaining runbooks for use by the team . This position will also include on-call, shift work and weekend work.
Qualifications:
Troubleshooting experience
MQ Series knowledge
Experience with Configuration Management tools (Visual Intercept, Perforce, Continuus, CMVC or other) an asset
Experience with Unix System Administration (Solaris or other) an asset
Experience with Websphere an asset
Scripting – PERL, Shell or other an asset
Client facing experience
Strong desire to build a challenging information technology driven career
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong teamwork skills
Completion of a technology focused college diploma or post-graduate technology program
