Well Michael,
One of my biggest challenges is getting official recognition from IBM at all. As several of the IBMers who attended the conference will tell you, it is next to impossible to pin down the appropriate person who has the authority to create an official relationship between IBM and this site. I would love for IBM to provide us with betas and information before the general public so that we could help make their products as good as possible, but as of yet, I haven't been put in contact with the person who can make that happen. _________________ Brandon Duncan

Brandon,
your best bet will be to start with John Soyring, he is a VP or even P within IBM Software and very familiar with us grassroots folks. In the OS/2 days he was the main power sponsor of TEAM OS/2.
If one of the IBMers can look up John's e-mail address and pass it to Brandon (or me), I am sure we will find at least a listening ear. _________________ Michael

mqsidude was kind enough to pass me John's e-mail.
I will draft an e-mail to John and see where this leads us. _________________ Michael

zpat,
I am sure a large number of the participants on mqseries.net participate in local user groups aswell.
The point is that mqseries.net provides a 'global' platform to reach any level of user be it beginner upto expert
(or the other way around mqseries.net can be accessed by any level of user).
The fact that traffic and hits are growing by the day proves to me mqseries.net is the resource on the net!
That fact in itself can be recognised by IBM and be supported for that matter.
The e-mail I will address to John is not a begging letter for support (although that would be nice... ),
simply offer a direct channel into both beginner level and expert level users, in return we can play a role in making
WebSphere BI and related products more usable and better to understand AND not to mention take care of 'glitches' like we have had with many
GA versions and CSD's.
This can be in the form of controlled beta testing of new versions, which is now already in place but only for large corporates
willing to commit to buying the new versions and be a 'reference' to IBM (this is the ESP program) AND
pre-releases of CSD's say allow one week to see if there are any 'glitches' like we have seen in the past...
Just some thoughts on a win/win situation. _________________ Michael

BTW,
I have been in contact with various MQ user's groups about them posting upcoming news/events relevant to their group on this site. _________________ Brandon Duncan

With regret I have to inform you guys that I have sent e-mails to John Soyring and to none of them I got a reply. If anyone has a better idea
or a more responsive executive contact within IBM, let me know and I'll try that... _________________ Michael

The problem might to remember who is who
I can't remember all the names myself.
Maybe we should give it a try all of us who we're there ....

Yeah, unfortunately I didn't get to adding the captions until a month after the fact so I didn't remember everyone by name. Anywhere I was even slightly unsure I just left it out... Especially considering I probably introduced myself to over a hundred people at that conference. _________________ Brandon Duncan
