im new at this stuff, but Im wondering how do these technologies relate.
I mean I understand java, and some base class stuff with WMQ5.3 but I want to get a job working with J2EE and dont know where to start? i know absolutely ZERO about about JMS/J2EE.

Should I just learn JMS, what is the difference in it and java?
I want to be a j2ee guru so is jms going to replace java with wmq5.3 ? or do they work together?

thank you

if you want to be a j2ee guru, u need to have a knowledge of JMS cause it's forms the backbone of vendor independent Enterprise messaging...
and as far as MQ is concerned JMS -- MQ glue very well. u may want to look into JMS MQ API's for a detailed knowledge. Hope this helps u..

Go look at:

http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=16817

There is some information in it regarding MQ Java vs. JMS.

thank you very much for your answer.

Can you recommend any sites that are great at learning JMS from scratch?
I will also read the JMS part of the 'using java' redbook for mqseries.
