Hi,

The save QueueManagr supportPac, does it backup only the QMGR objects or does it back up the queue manager also.

Meaning first do we need to create the QMGR and using the runmqsc we have to create the objects using the file generated by saveqmgr??

Thanks
Hema

Create the queue manager and then restore the objects from runmqsc using the saved file.

The queue manager settings are also saved by saveqmgr.

Make sure that you have the latest version of MS03 -- Saveqmgr utility. if u are using CSD6 or more of WMQ 5.3 u need to have the latest version of saveqmgr utility. Reason for that is, in csd 6 WMQ introduced a attribute NPMCLASS which was not there earlier. So the older version of saveqmgr utility would fail giving a PCF attribute error.

The QM settings that you can set by runmqsc are saved by MS03. But the QM properties that are kept in the registry or in the qm.ini file you will have to set yourself. MS03 does not capture those.

If you want to save your queue manager settings, ie MaxChannels, log defaults etc, you could create a batchfile to use the MQ administration command 'amqmdain' with whatever extensions are necessary for the data you require. We use it quite a lot, as we use a number of non-default settings for the queue managers.
