Hi,

-We are about to install client 5.3 on standalone sun solaris 8 platform
- we saw that depending of the edition of the Quick Beginnings for Solaris book you use the Hard Requirements for the Operating system do not present the same list of OS patches to appy for mqseries and/or SSL
tou MUST install BEFORE installing mqseries code !

- one can see the differences for exemple between these two references of Quick Beginnings for Solaris 5.3:

MQSeries for Sun Solaris V5.3 Quick Beginnings

I we dont take care the version the manual we use perhaps we will be wrong for the sun os patches to install !!

anybody able to clarify the situation for me?

Jack,
I would take the rule of thumb.. follow the latest manuals. The information in the manuals is what was available and tested at the time / prior to publication. The later the manuals, the more information they have, and tests that they did.
I still keep old manuals though, for reference. But I always refer to the latest.
