Hi
We need to measure the time taken by the message flows to process a business request. Sometime back, there was a plug in node "Execute Time Plug-in" provided by IBM as support pack IA0A..Currently this support pack is withdrawn, but still available on the ibm site.
But this plug in is supported only for NT and AIX platform. We are looking for a similar plug-in for our broker on OS/390.
Is there is any similar support pack/ code available for broker on mainframe?

Hi,
We are on OS/390 V2R0, WMQI V2.1 CSD3, WMQ 5.2
Any other ideas how to measure the time taken by the flows..a kind of stress test and throughput measurement in fact..
one conventional way is to put trace nodes and note the time and do the calculation...but any other way to automate the process?
Thanks.. |

Well, Trace nodes will have some overhead.
Another way would be to load your input queue before starting the message flow. In your message flow (MQOutput node) set the Message Context property to default. Now look at the time difference between first and last message. This will tell you how much time your message flow took for processing those number of messages.
SupportPac IH03 contains few utilities which will help you in measuring the performance for your message flows. You can download the supportPac at
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=203&uid=swg24000637&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en
Please note that this supportPac runs on Windows environment.
Note: The supportPac says WBIMB V5 in the title, but you can still use it for WMQI 2.1 _________________ Kiran
