I have to build a flow that manages many (hundred of thousands) messages whit database (AIX UDB) interactions (insert and update). I want to coordinate the updates made to database with other actions within the message flow so Iâ€™m considering configuring a XAResourceManager.
The question is, as many concerns arise, what is the impact on performance and system resource (CPU and memory) requirements?

I believe the XA 'hit' is around 30% in terms of throughput and CPU, but nothing can replace testing with your own setup.

There's a performance comparison using XA and Non-XA complaint resources somewhere in the IBM site.....
That document suggests that wheneever you want to have a single phase transaction do not use XA resource..
