I am getting the following error(s) when trying to run the above utility:

BIP1018S: Unexpected exception in utility ImportMsgFlows; method getMsgFromXML.

An exception was caught by the ImportMsgFlows utility in method getMsgFromXML. The exception text is: com.ibm.ivm.tools.model.ToolsModelException: BIP0006E Incorrect parameters were supplied. This is an internal error. The method was: com.ibm.ivm.tools.model.LogEntry.LogEntry. Turn on Control Center tracing to capture details of the error. Retry the operation and contact your IBM support center.. The current operation will end.

Retry the operation if possible. If the exception still occurs, contact your IBM support center.

We are using the JRE from the WMQI\JRE\bin directory that came with the product.

I have read the post:

but this doesn't seem to apply to our situation. We have verified that the pathing statements are correct.

Any help on this issue would be GREATLY appreciated. This issue is on the verge of preventing a project from going to PROD on time.

thanks,

glenn

I have the same problem.

I'm using this utilities successfully many times, but after a configuration manager re-install on Windows 2000 SP4 I receive the following error message:

readMsgFlows.

An exception was caught by the ExportMsgFlows utility in method
readMsgFlows. The exception text is:

the error. Retry the operation and contact your IBM support center.. The
current operation will end.

Retry the operation if possible. If the exception still occurs, contact
your IBM support center.

Have you tried importing the same message flow (XML file) using Control Center app?

Hi Kiran !

Yes, the import/export from Control Center works fine.

I try to import from command line a message flow exported prior with Control Center, but the error message are the same.

If I use the new (migrated) databse with the oldest (before migration) programs (I have a copy of WMQI directory before applaying the CSD, and I set the PATH and CLASSPATH to this copy) , the import/export works.

Have you any idea ? Maybee I forget something ?

Thanks for your help,

Sandor,
Which CSD did you apply? I know the layout of XML file was changed in CSD3 when they added Validation related tags. You will get errors when trying to import file exported from CSD 3 (or higher) to a configuration manager with lower CSD.
How big is your XML file?

Hi Kiran,

1. Using 2.1 CSD02 and IC01 utilities I export the message flows
2. Using 2.1 CSD06 and Control Center, I import the message flows previously exported from CSD02 Config Manager
3. Using 2.1 CSD06 and IC01 utilities I try to export the message flows, but I receive the signaled error for subflows (only for subflows)
4. Using 2.1 CSD06 Control Center the import/export works

Thank for your help,
