I am in talks with a vendor about a transfer between their system and another vendor supported system.
We told them that we wanted to use "middleware" / mqsi to do most of the data conversion work but they are trying to convince their customers (our fellow departmental employees) that this is a waste and we should just use XSLT's to solve this issue.
My question is how do I respond? What is it about MQSI / MQ that I can respond with that would easily show why just using XSLT's is not the way to go. I've tried the tact of MQSI is more powerful, can do more, and is centrally located/controlled. These simple arguments have done nothing to quite the concern of our fellow employees who are more inclined to listen to the vendor at this point.
We already own and are using MQSI/MQ in another transfer and plan on several more but this vendor is causing a bit of a stir. I want to know is this an easy response or does just using XSLT's have a place? If so where and how does one decide when to use MQSI and when to use XSLT's only?
