He is at 5.2, so he is limited to a max depth of 640 000.

Yeah, I think that was posted while I was typing the response, that or I just didn't see it. Time to upgrade to 5.3.0.6. or change the app so it pulls the messages off the queue faster.

Thanks Peter and all others for replying my post.

Just recap:
1. Upgrade MQ to V5.3 from 5.2
2. Set MAXDEPTH to 999 999 999
3. Set MRRTR and MRTMR to proper value on RECV channle

Right, but in most cases not all messages need to be processed in sequence. It's most likely that you have e.g. 5 messages that update entity X in the database and another 5 that update entity Y. These two groups could be processed concurrently, while still maintaining proper order of messages in each group. Of course, the sending application would have to be smart enough to distribute each group of messages among two (or more) remote queues.
