From the MQ Integrator v2.1 Problem Determination Guide (.pdf) :

"The process of problem determination usually enables you to solve a problem. For example :
- If you find that the cause of the problem is an error in an application program, you can solve the problem by fixing the error."

Wow, and all this time I was just taking random stabs at fixing my problems. It sounds like if I figure out what is causing the problem it'll be much easier to fix!
