Hi all,
I had created a Domain connection in WBIMB, but when i try connecting to the Configuration Manager i get following error:
*******************************************************
BIP0889E An exception occured while communicating with the Configuration Manager on WBRK_QM.
Reason:
WebSphere Studio is experiencing problems communicating with the Configuration Manager on WBRK_QM
Ensure that the Configuration Manager is available.
If so and exception still occurs, retry the operation after increasing Configuration Manager Proxy retry attempts values in Preferences.
*********************************************************
Also further the "Details" are as follows:
TopicRoot information was not received from the Configuration Manager. Either the Configuration Manager is not available or the user 'administrator@domain' does not have authority to view the object. (UUID='TopicRoot', required attribute='name')
*********************************************************
Now the point is the Configuration Manager is very much running.
Also the user is member of:
Administrators,mqbrasgn,mqbrdevt,mqbrkrs,mqbrops,mqbrtpic,mqm,Users
I am not able to figure out the error.
Pls advice. Any help will be appreciated.
Regards,
Hari

Are there any error messages on the ConfigMgr Application log? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

We had same kind of problem short while ago (or at least the error message from Toolkit was same...)
In our case the problem was that the computer where WBIMB was running was part of Windows domain, but username that we used for running the Configuration Manager was local and had access only to local Windows user settings, it didn't had for example permission to browse domain's user groups. So we thought that it might be related to that (in eventlog there had been some errors from Windows at same time when the toolkit gived error) and removed the computer from Windows domain (to local workgroup), recreated the Configuration Manager and the problem had gone away.
Now afterwards I think that problem might had also be solved with only "tweaking" the Configuration Manager settings (we tried, but didn't succeed) ?
Hope you found solution for your problem.

I had seen a similar post in this forum, well they had provided a solution of changing the "Windows NT/2000 complete domain awareness" by using the :
mqsichangeconfigmgr -l 0
but doesnt seem to work in my case.
Also one thing that my current user is not a domain user and it belongs to the local Workgroup.
Also while i was fiddling around with the Security Wizard and i saw that it doesnt take usernames with more than 12 characters (my user was Administrator)...
So what i did i provided the user "db2admin" with all authorizations and ran the config manager under this user, but still the same error is shown...
Also one thing which i have seen after changing the "Windows NT/2000 complete domain awareness" now atleast it is able to read Domain Connection but when it goes on to read the Topology it gives an error...
Now the Application log gives the following error:
*****************************************************
( ConfigMgr ) Unknown user encountered within the Configuration Manager.
An unknown user exception was caught by the Configuration Manager RoleManager class when calling the UGRegistry class. The user has not been given access to the resource.
Retry the operation. If the exception still occurs, turn on Configuration Manager tracing to capture details of the exception, and contact your IBM support center.
*****************************************************
Previously before i changed the "Windows NT/2000 complete domain awareness" this is what the Application log showed:
******************************************************
ConfigMgr ) Error in call NetUserGetLocalGroups() to the NT security domain with return code 2221.
A component of WebSphere Business Integration Message Brokers is attempting to call the NT security domain. The security subsystem returned an error code.
Check NT security subsystem documentation for the reported error. Restart the relevant service component (UserNameServer, or Configuration Manager). Ensure that a Domain Controller, either Primary or Backup, is available.
******************************************************* |

Well the problem was that i was still logging into the system as "Administrator" so what was happening though i started the config manager under "db2admin", the domain was trying to connect as "Administrator"....
So as i was saying previously, WBIMB is not able to recognise users with more than 12 characters.
Now after logging in as "db2admin" it has finally worked.

This is documented behavior.
So, we call this "working as designed". _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
