Hi

I have a Scenario where in a Hub Queue Manager in AIX box communicating with Six Other queue manager using DQM implementation. I have used Websphere MQ Channel Triggering to start automatically the Sender Channels. Considering this scenario ,I have couple of questions related to design.

1.TriggerType on Transmission Queue -->Should We Set to FIRST or EVERY? Currently Set to FIRST.
2.No of Initiation Queues --> Will it be better to use one InitQ for each XmitQ ? Currently we are using Default System InitQ and only one Channel Initiator Instance is running. If we have Multiple instances of Channel Initiator running , does it affects the system performance?
3. Usage of Disconnect Interval ---> Currently the we have the default value Set (i.e indefinitely running).Does the Channel Initiator Issues the Start Command on the Channel ,whenever Message arrives in XMITQ. What does the channel triggering works when we set this interval to Zero?
If we Set Trigger Type to EVERY, does the Channel Initiator Starts the Channel for Every message,.how does it works?

Please somebody spare time to answer these questions to me .. it will be very helpful to proceed this design

Many Thanks :

N.satish

1. Always use First
2. Use the SYSTEM.CHANNEL.INITQ. That's what it's there for.
3. The default is 6000 seconds. To have the channels run indefinitely, you have to change it (or the Model) to 0.

If the channel is running, then the Initiator will ignore any request to start it. So, generating Trigger messages on every message will just use up resources and provide no benefit.

Cheers,
