I am on WBI V5 CSD2 and this weekend when I hit the new updates button I found 15 new packages to be available... (labeled 5.0.2.1 and 5.0.2.2)

the sizes of the packages varied from a few K to 21 MB, does any one know the process of communicating these changes?
Are these preludes to the regular CSD/FP process?

Where are these updates communicated?
What is the contents of these updates?
How to keep track of which you have and which you don't?
How to propagate these changes to machines that don't have internet access?

Michael

These are updates to the eclipse tooling; broker and config mgr changes cannot be downloaded this way.

In the update perspective you get a very brief description of the update, but no real beef. The updates are sucked off an FTP site, you can download the files manually and update all your installations from these files.

So far, a few minor fixes have been released via eclipse update, but all the meaty stuff goes into the CSD's and APAR's.

Hi Michael

Quote:

Yes, these fixes will presumably be included into the next CSD release.

They are not explicitly communicated, unless it is through IBM support. These fixes are meant for customers who cannot wait until the next CSD release.

Current update content includes various fixes to parts of the product and documentation translation updates.

You can keep track of these via the Update Manager view of your workbench in the configuration panel. Updates will have an explicit blue arrow icon.

These updates willl presumably be released in the next downloadable CSD, which you can then burn onto a CD and install on a machine that does not have internet access. It is possible to not wait for a CSD, though such a process would have to be done through IBM support.

Cheers
