I would have said that there are "WebSphere MQ Classes for Java" and "WebSphere MQ Classes for JMS". To me, the client is a subset of the WMQ Classes for Java. These classes allow you to connect to a qmgr in either bindings or client mode.
I believe that once upon a time the classes were built so that the client ones were in different jar files from the bindings one. "WMQ Client for Java" may be referring to this.
