Hi , I'm using WMQI and DB2 database on WinNT. Using the DB2 control center I've mapped a remote database to my system and then created a connection(data source) to that. Now I'm using this data source in my compute node. I'm doing some database operations using ESQL in compute node. This works only when my WMQI userid and passwd are matching with my remote DB2 userid/passwd else i get an error saying invalid username and passwd. In any real-life situation the userid/passwds betn diff systems will be different. I cant make all of them the same. So in that case how to still access and do database operations in different databases having diff userid/passwds without making them the same.
This is a limitation of the 2.1 product version. The broker will only execute calls against databases using it's Database user id and password.
This is fixed in version 5. You can associate a userid and password with a particular ODBC datasource, and the broker will use that instead of it's Database userid.
There is no workaround for version 2.1. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general.
