Does anyone have experience with the following situation.
Thusfar we have implemented MQ Series over our local network.
Now we have to connect with a client using an ISDN connection.
What do I have to arrange in MQ Series to prevent MQ Series from keeping the ISDN-line occupied?
I would like to have the line open on arrival of messages in a particular queue and shutdown immediately after sending them.

Short disconnect intervals on the channels?

(And of course, channel triggering)

Thank you Jason for your answer.
How about my heartbeat? Doesn't this keep open the ISDN connection?
Default we applied a value of 300 sec.
As I read in the manual, disconnecttime should not be less then ones heartbeat. So whats the use of a heartbeat signal when you're using a disconnecttime? As soon as new messages arrive on one end, the connection is re-astablished again, no heartbeat necessary?
Correct or ...?

The heartbeat is a way for the channel to tell that the other end is still alive. If you have your disconnect interval set lower than the heartbeat, you'll disconnect before ever having to check. However, if you disconnect interval is very high, the heartbeat allows the channels to check every heartbeat interval on whether or not the other end is still up.

In your situation, it sounds like you are interested in disconnecting, so you might consider going with the small disconnect interval and not worrying about heartbeats.
