I would like to clarify my understanding of how security works with control center and deploying. If I have a control center topology with 5 brokers - if a user is in the mqbrops group - they can deploy to any of those brokers. Is there any way to prevent them from deploying to any of the brokers individually - the other brokers are aix brokers.

A Configuration Manager controls a broker domain, you grant users for some role for this domain. If for some reason you don't wan't this, these brokers probably don't belong in the same domain. For instance: development and production brokers shouldn't be in the same domain.
