Hello gusy,
I have queue manager that's been stopped and started multiple times but I don't see the error logs in /var/mqm/errors updating., queue manager errors are updating fine though. Is this normal? Do they roll only when there's an issue on the queue manager? Should they be logging the MQ stop /start logs.

There are two errors directories/folders. The one you posted is for mq in its entirety. For errors for a particular queue manager, You need to navigate down /var/mqm/qmgrs/your qmgr name/errors.

Have you ever seen them updating for qmgr stop/start? The answer is they don't. The logs in /var/mqm/errors only contain entries from MQ Clients or other errors that are not queue manager specific.
