Hi All ,
I have a doubt on MQ clustering , as per my understanding when a partial repo QM - QM1 wants to get connected with another QM2 in the cluster it will check with full repo and get the cluster channel info and gets connected with QM2 .
My doubt is if there is a firewall between QM1 and QM2 will it be able to cconnect ? provided the Full Repo QM has connection to both QM1 and QM2.
Question is will QM1 be able to connect to QM2 via Full repo QM ?
Thanks in advance ,

No - QM1 gets told by the Full Repos how to connect to QM2, and then makes a direct connection to QM2. It does not connect to QM2 via the Full Repos. Once the Full Repos has told it the details, it is no longer involved.

So your firewall rules will need to allow intercommunication between ALL queue managers that are, or will be, in the cluster. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
