Hello guys,
Does clustering queue managers for an application connecting in local bindings add any value?
Scenario: An app is installed on 3 nodes and has MQ qmgr on each of those 3 nodes, app connects to the qmgr in local bindings. Now, does clustering these 3 qmgrs add any value ?
Appreciate your help. |

Server-bindings add value, as they don’t endure network flows of client-bindings. As such, server-bindings app are faster than client-bindings.
Apps don’t connect to a cluster; rather, they connect to a qmgr, which may or may not have clustered objects. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Yes.
It's an odd question to ask though - what problem are you trying to solve? |

The OP is trying to solve this I think - a variation of the old chestnut of using an MQ cluster as an HA solution. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
