anyone know where to find a mq manual for learning to write apps for MQ 5.3 with VB or VB.net?

The documentation button at the top of the page will take you to the MQSeries Library on IBM's website, where you can find WebSphere MQ for Windows,Using the Component Object Model Interface

And there are some Visual Basic samples included with Websphere MQ, in <MQInstallDir>\tools\Vb\sampVB6.
