We are running Weblogic connecting to MQSeries for Win NT 5.2 using JMS. According to the Weblogic administrator there should never be more than 10 concurrent connections to MQ. However, we are finding that over time the number of server connection channel instances as recorded by MQ keeps increasing. It appears that after a network problem MQ thinks that the connections are still active whereas JMS thinks they have terminated and starts some new channels. Any ideas what we can do? Will upgrading to MQ 5.3 solve the problem?

I don't know if upgrading will solve your specific problem, but I do know that some channel cleaning up fixes where put into one of the later (past CSD4) CSDs for MQ 5.2. If you don't have one installed, I'd try this first.
