Regarding Transmission Queue

While referring to some of the documents I came across that the name of the transmission queue should be the name of the remote queue manager,

while some other documents say that it is not necessary which I have confirmed by practically testing.

On what occasions the former is true?

The trick with XMITQ name matching QM name (or QM alias) is used when you want to send or forward a message using only transmission queue (without remote queue definition). You can find the details in the documentation (search for queue name resolution).

The XMIT queue name need not be a Remote Queue Manager name. If the name of the XMIT Queue, is the same as Remote Qmgr, optionally, you need not to provide the value for XMITQ attribute of remote queue defintion.
