Hi everyone,
I have a message flow, which has a SoapInput node. Is it possible to identify the IP address of a client, who calls my message flow?
I verified the KC and didn't find a way to do this

How did you manage not to find this? Which is the same information you'd get (for example) for a Java app that exposes a web endpoint.

As the KC indicates, this is the address of the client or the proxy they're using. If you're behind a network load balancer, it might be the address of the load balancer rather than the client. This, combined with the ease with which an IP address can be spoofed, makes the usefulness of this information somewhat limited.

If you're trying to identify source IP as some kind of security measure, either:

- don't, and use a credential based solution instead
- get the IP addresses filtered at the network level

Hi Vitor,
Thanks for replying.

I saw the X-Remote-Host thing before, but I was getting the IP of my local machine, where the Broker is running.

I am testing calling from a VM to my local machine, but the proxy part can explain why I am getting my local's IP, and not VM's IP.

Have a nice weekend

What address things outside a VM see depends entirely on how the VM is configured, network wise.
