I am having a problem creating a qmgr using the MQ Explorer. I can execute the same command stated in the error below from the command line. Has anyone seen this error and/or know how to fix it?

Looks like it's trying to issue the command as the user 'mqm'. Do you have one.

mqm is the domain login with group membership to the domain mqm goup (as setup following the instructions provided by the MQ install instructions).
local accounts have membership to the domain mqm group and my domain login also is a member of the group. |

I was looking at this line from the FDC:
Normally, when using the Explorer, it uses the signed in users's ID.

When you said that is looked like mqm was running it, I saw that same thing. I am logged in with my domain account (with domain mqm and local mqm group rights).
MQ does not create a local mqm user (PS: windows 2k install) in windows. It creates a local MUSR_MQADMIN user and mqm group. I set up a domain user account (mqm) and domain mqm group (as the instructions said, followed to the 'T') I don't see anything that looks like permission problems.
Now, the question is why/how do I get this thing to use the right id to create all the object? When running the Prepare WebSphere MQ Wizard I enter the domain mqm user. I have also tried my domain login for this (same error).

Nope. I have tried this a few times. The only thing I didn't try was to add my userid (domain login) to the permissions of the MQ folder. Did that and still no good.
I get the same error. BTW, my domain login is also assigned to the local admin group. |

I checked many files in various directories. They all have the local mqm group, the Administrators group, NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM, Everyone and I added my domain user login (all with Full access).
Problem still exists |
