Hi,
What is the maximum length of the datatype STRING? Is it possible to restrict the length to say 20character? I want to update the description field with the several fields but as there is a max limit of 254 Characters, I want to restrict the STRING Length.
Something like 'fixed length string' Instead of 'Variable Length String'

Any help will be appreciated.

There is nothing in Workflow to my knowledge to restrict the size of your string. If you have such a requirement you need to restrict it outside of MQWF.

I think the max size of data within a string is 4mb, which is the max amount of data that can be passed along the data connectors.
