thanks for the feedback. let me look into the JCN route now. any idea why IBM needs to out out statistical data in PCF format anyway? data mean for user consumption should be in a user-friendly format I would think (XML, JSON).

PCF is the command format that MQ uses under the hood. It dates back to a time when XML was not as popular as it is now. This was also a time when JSON was just an idea in someones mind.

If you want to get IBM to change it then you are free to submit an enhancement request.
If you do, then I'll vote for it.
