Channels or binding (cross-memory) connections? _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

I'm not sure there is a maximum that can be physically set but I would expect system resources will place a limit on the number. Hopefully someone from Hursley will be along soon to provide better information. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

So you don't (as you first asked) want to know the maximum connections possible, but how many applications are in fact connected? Using bindings?
Why?
An application using a binding connection doesn't "connect" in the sense of something you could display. But the list of suspects is the list of MQ aware applications on the same server as the queue manager. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

So what, exactly, are you asking us?
What information are you trying to obtain from your MQ set up?
What use do you plan to put this information to? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

afaik, there is no parameter in MQ that sets the maximum number of simultaneous connections to a queue manager. The ultimate limit will probably be constrained by server resources. Its probably way over 10,000. I would question a design that would need to use very high numbers in normal operation. _________________ Glenn |
