WSAS 5.0
MQ 5.3

I'm getting to a similar situation.

So far, with all my testing, if everything is on the same box (embedded/default jms, or even full MQ), the JMS services run fine. But like you I think, when I try setting the MQ JMS Provider for a MQ on a diff machine, I got a JNDI error NameNotFound for my qcf.

Were you able to successfully connect WSAS to another machine's MQ? (before adding the node to a cluster?)

Per the documentation, the embedded JMS server is limited (it can accept internal and external requests, but it cannot connect to remote queues, you have no control over the QM, etc). The system and configuration guide also indicates upgrading the embedded JMS to MQ, but still on the same machine. All MQ and WSAS usage works fine when on the same box.

Have you (or anyone else) been able to connect WSAS to MQ on separate boxes? (without considering clustering issues, just direct usage.)

I received a JNDI error when I tried using the MQ JMS Provider jndi resource setting. NameNotFound.

Glad to team up on this issue.
