Hi
I Installed WMQI 2.1 CSD5 with all prerequirements. Nothing is coming up if you right click the Topology view in CC. so we can not create broker. mqadmin has all rights(WMQI groups + Administrators). Any body had this problem before?

Are you logged in as mqadmin when you launch the control center?

Hi,

if by chance you are using MQ 5.3 try to set the environment
variable
MQNOREMPOOL = 1
and
MQNORMPOOL = 1

(don't know the correct spelling anymore therefore try both)

and reboot.

There was a known incompatibility issue with MQSI 2.1 and earlier
versions with MQ 5.3 changed Java connection pool handling which
could have caused similar behavior like you observed.

Hi,
I added the two variables and I'm still having problems connecting workstation 1 (WMQI 2.1 CSD4, MQSeries 5.2) to workstation 2(WMQI 2.1 CSD4, MQSeries 5.3).

I can connect, but I'm getting not authorize when I try to perform any operations.

Hi again,

please be a bit more elaborate about your setup
which components are running on which machine
and what users & groups did you define on each
machine.
Are both of these NT/W2000 boxes and if so are
any of them connected to a W2000 domain controller ?

Hi,
I added MQNOREMPOOL=1 on both machines. I'm using Contol Center on workstation 1 to connect ot workstation 2. The userid has been assigned to all of the WMQI groups on both workstations. I can connect, but I'm getting not authorize when I try to perform any operations.

Workstation 1 (WMQI 2.1 CSD4, MQSeries 5.2)
Workstation 2(WMQI 2.1 CSD4, MQSeries 5.3).

I hope this helps,
Lisa

Hi,

strange enough, can you start a service trace for your config mgr
before you connect with your control center.
(see your administration guide or the troubleshooting guide
for how you do that).
Don't post it here, it'll be too long. I'll send you a private message
with my email.
