The poster can't seem to find the runtime component options in the start menu. |
Two possibilities come to mind: 1) the product isn't installed (correctly); 2) or the shortcut didn't get launched to the Task Bar.
Validating requires a quick search of the Program Files folder. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Hi folks,
I have downloaded the IIB9 trail version(Developer Version) from IBM.
I have installed it on my first PC i didn't face any problem while installing it on first PC but when i am trying to install the same copy on my second PC
i am getting following error( IIB runtime(Integration Bus) the launch pad is unable to find the MQ version)
My doubt is Can't we install one copy on different Systems.
Note:These two systems are in same LAN connection |

You can install as many copies of the Developer Edition from a single install media as you want.
We currently have about a dozen active editions installed from the same centrally stored media.
Your 2nd install is flawed, as described above. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Note that (pedantically) this differs from the WMBv7 trial edition in that it's not time limited and attracts a full IBM license (albeit a license with no cost). WMBv7 was free when used for development.
Something to bear in mind when considering installation topology. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

The image tags work just like the url tags. Between the img tags you need to specify the image url/uri _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

That won't work... the image must be accessible over the internet... hence a url/uri to point to the image. _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

I have fallen into a deep mess .
I was working fine with the MQ v7.5 and IIB v9 that I downloaded from IBM Trial download site .
My client provided a licenced version. So I Uninstalled the previously installed MQ and IIB in my Windows machine.
I did the following:
Took backup of QM.
Took ProjectInterchange back up of my artifacts of my IIB.
Stopped the broker.
Stopped the QManager.
Stopped MQ service and IIBNode service from Windows service.
Uninstalled IIB by choosing "Uninstall" option from Installation manager.
Uninstalled MQ.
Installed again.
Now I am able to see the old configuration meaning IB9NODE and QM (IB9QMGR). The mess is that I am not able to delete them. I am not able to create a new NODE ....
When I see the "Details" tab it displays "Begin running task [The local integration node is being deleted]
The task was unsuccessful: Integration Bus runtime is not installed properly".
What do I do ? _________________ Best Regards,

Reimage the machine and start again. Or pick your way through the Registry looking for keys that might be causing the problem and cross your fingers.
Your procedure looks good - it's the Windoze architecture that's let you down. Clearly the uninstall didn't (or couldn't) remove all of the old install and you don't mention restarting Windows between the uninstalls; typically necessary to ensure the cleaning is complete. So now you're left with what you correctly describe as a deep mess.
(Strictly speaking, you could have left MQ in place but that's not relevant to your problem)
We've all done it. Once. Accept it as a learning experience and in future never install, uninstall or configure Windows without rebooting. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Hi Vitor,
I had restarted my machine after un-installing. _________________ Best Regards,

I checked in Windows Registery.
Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, I could notice under IBM folder only "Installation Manager" folder but no other folder related MQ and IIB...
Where else should I look for in the Windows Registry ? _________________ Best Regards,

uninstalling MQ doesn't delete queue managers - on purpose.
can you see any bip* processes or DataFlowEngine processes running?
Can you go into Services and set the IIB service and MQ service to not start up automaticallly and then restart?
then try using mqsideletebroker (or whatever my bad memory fails to recall it's named) to remove the broker, use the force option.
Then use dltmqm to remove the queue manager.
MQ v7.x and MQV8 don't really use the Windows registry very much these days, as far as I remember. |

Thanks mqjeff.
I did the following:
1) Checked the service type of the IIBNODE. Changed it to manual.
2) Same for MQ. Made sure the broker service is in stopped state.
3) Started the services of MQ.
4)Right clicked on the IIBNODE, and selected "Delete" , from the toolkit itself.
5) It took time , and finally got the node(broker) deleted.
6) I created a new broker (node) successfully.
Thanks mqjeff .. its a big relief. _________________ Best Regards,
