We are having 1 Broker with 6 EG on it and total 17 applications are distributed with in this EG's.

Currently from topas command we see

Real, MB 12288
%Comp 81
%Noncomp 18
%Client 18

and the %Comp will increase to 85% next day.

Total Memory is 12 MB .

What are the parameters we need to check or tune to bring the Memory down..

12.288 MB = ~12GB RAM Usage

Each (empty or with flows) EG upon start will be 80MB to 100MB

The flows (Input- and Output-Root) require memory when running, but they release it to the EG when finished

The EG releases the memory to the OS when stopping.

Shared Rows require memory (constantly)

Stopped EGs consume 0MB

Total MEMORY is RAM + SWAP

Look at the Field Counts in the WMB Explorer.

"Field" (in this context) means "Entry(Element(!)) in the msg tree"

The flows which have a high Field Count (e.g. 100tsd, 1Mio and beyond) also consume the most Memory.

Memory Leaks on Shared Rows have been discussed here.

You should read that post it also contains info relevant for mem mgmnt in Broker (in general).
