Hello,

I am planning to Move version 7 Broker and its associated objects from an existing AIX HOST(old Hardware) to A new AIX HOST(NEW Hardware).

Please let me know what would be the best method to achieve this migration.

I would not rehost but build a new environment and switch to it.

  1. Install IIB V9 with IBM MQ V8
  2. Create a new Qmgr/Broker
  3. Create new channels (is this in a cluster?)
  4. Create same queues for broker input/output
  5. Redeploy BAR files to same EGs on new broker
  6. Carefully point apps to new Qmgr/Broker

Or WMQ 7.5.0.3 if you are not that keen on a just released version.
