Hi,
We are planning to migrate our MQ from V6 to V8 and during the planning , the recovery plan is to replicate the file systems of our FUTURE production environment to our Disaster Recovery(DR) env's. The queue manager data and log file systems can be replicated normally but when we perform similar mirroring strategy on the configuration and binaries folders, ie /var/mqm & /opt/mqm , would that work without issues? Does MQV8 pushes some changes to the system level like the MQ v6 does to windows registry. I would like to test that and see but need suggestion from you guys if it works or not.
Have someone tried this ?
Is there any other efficient way of mirroring/copying data to a different server for MQ other than the generic ftp/robocopy etc.

How about replicating the messages (with an expiry)?
Frankly, it really all depends on your SLA for DR failover and how much you are willing to spend _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.
