Hi All,
I am new to MQ pub/sub environment.
Can anybody provide me the link from where I can get the MQ Pub/Sub Redbook for Version 6.
I tried to find on Mr. Internet, but I am getting it for V 7.
As I have to implment pub/sub in existing MQ 6 environment , I need this Redbook (or any other link/book)
Thanks in advance. |

The MQ V6.0 Red Book only has a very brief mention of the MA0C SupportPac Pub/Sub that was rolled in at V5.3 FP8.
Perhaps you could ask your questions here and see if we can help you? There is information about the queued Pub/Sub interface in the newer Information Centers as well as it is an interface that is still supported in V7+.
Cheers

You (or more specifically your client) should not be implementing anything new in WMQv6 and should in fact be thinking seriously about moving off WMQv6.
If they want solid reasons why that do not include WMQv6 is out of support (which presumably doesn't worry them):
- any pub/sub they implement will just need to be migrated at some point because pub/sub in v6 doesn't work the same way as pub/sub in subsequent versions
- pub/sub in v7 and later is much more reliable & performant than pub/sub in v6 because it doesn't work the same way _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Even WMQ v7.0.1.x will be out of support next year.
If you were to use JMS pub/sub it will work with either version 6 or 7 - but you would be ill-advised to develop on v6.
With the appropriate PSMODE both queued and the new format of pub/sub will work with v7. _________________ Well, I don't think there is any question about it. It can only be attributable to human error. This sort of thing has cropped up before, and it has always been due to human error. |

Don't do this. You will seriously regret it later on. MQ v6 is no longer supported. If you have any issues IBM will probably not provide any assistance. You won't get much help on this forum either. Upgrade to MQ v7.5, life is much easier for pub/sub.
