We had upgraded our fix pack level to 8.0.0.3 from 8.0.0.2 and one of the BAR file deployment is failing for the instance D02. The same BAR file deployment is successful for another instance I01 running on 8.0.0.2 fix.

Error details are below.

BIP3701E: A Java exception was thrown whilst calling the Java JNI method ''AdminAgentThread_getDeployMessage''.

The Java exception was ''org.w3c.dom.DOMException: INVALID_CHARACTER_ERR: An invalid or illegal XML character is specified. ''. The Java stack trace was ''Frame : 0 org.w3c.dom.DOMException: INVALID_CHARACTER_ERR: An invalid or illegal XML character is specified.
Correct the error, and if necessary redeploy the flow.

The task was unsuccessful: The deployment was unsuccessful. Check error messages above for explanation.

Could some body help in troubleshooting this

Did you check that the iFix you applied to 8.0.0.2 is in the 8.0.0.3 release?

If it isn't then go and ask IBM for a version of the iFix for 8.0.0.3 and assurances that it will be in 8.0.0.4

Davies,

Thanks for your response. I am new to MB..please bear with me.

I did not apply any Broker Ifix to 8.0.0.2. I had downloaded the Broker fix 8.0.0.3 from Fix central and installed it on our Broker server(Linux 64 bit) and pointed the broker instance D02 to use the new fix(used mqsichangebroker -f for the instance to pick the new fix level).

The deployment of BAR is done using the Toolkit.

Our current Toolkit version is still : 8.0.0.2-IFix
Build id: 8.0.0.2-IFix-20130709-1003

Do you mean to say that we need to upgrade the Toolkit fix to 8.0.0.3 to resolve this ?

Also the same BAR got deployed to another Broker instance I01 which is running on Broker fix level 8.0.0.2.
