Have you tried browsing through some of the documentation? Have you created broker and configuration manager. Are you able to start your control centre. Try to get familiarize your self with the various components of MQSI by reading introduction and planning document.

You can start any where depending upon where you are heading towards Developement or Administration?.

Hi Inder,

Iam towards Development.
I tried to run the control center, but when it asked for a Qeueu manager, port number, I gave them in the window! But eventually it failed to start saying that the Queue managers are not runnung.

But I could see the respective Qeueue managers running in the MQSeries explorer window.

what can be wrong ?

Venky.

Check to see whether your listner is running and on which port. If not start the listner and restart the control centre. see the link for further details on how to start the listener

Assuming that you have a properly licensed copy of the software and want to learn more from experimentation, then you could work through some of the MQSI/WMQI examples in the IBM Redbooks eg SG24-6154-00 and SG24-6509-00 and SG24-6579-00 (esp this last one).

However if you intend offering your services to clients, I would hope that you would attend formal training classes at IBM or Candle as well as study the extensive documentation that IBM provides and maybe becoming certified.
