We are planning to Implement HA for our 2 new servers (Xeon E 8 core with 64 GB ram each) along with an upgrade to MQ 7.5. We don't plan on MI. I have read most pros and cons of PowerHA, Veritas and MSCS.
Do any experts have experience with any?
Could you recommend one of them?
PS: We have 6(six) queue managers and 4(four) brokers. Do we really need HA? (This will be my question)
Thanks |

How do we know what you're requirements are! _________________ Never let the facts get in the way of a good theory. |

All 3.

The one whose features most closely meet your needs. Seriously. All of them do HA. The fact that there are 3 competing products in the marketplace shows that all 3 are making sales; it's self-evident that people buy one or the other. The reasons why one is selected over another are as varied as the purchasers; you yourself alude to the pros and cons.

I don't know - how can I? Why do you currently believe you need HA? Is that belief valid? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

There is 1 application and all 6 qmgrs are in a cluster (overlapping with 2 external clusters which are part of HA at their locations)
Transactions are about 1000 msgs everyday.
Our intention is a downtime of not more than 30 secs.
The other centers are using PowerHA and I read, we don't need to have PowerHA just because of that.
(Please ask if I missed something.)
I need to recommend a utility among the three.
PowerHA, Veritas, MSCS.
MSCS is mentioned in the infocenter but there are mixed reviews on google.
Advise much appreciated. |

Of that list, I'd recommend Veritias.
But I'm some stranger on the Internet. I wouldn't trust me. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I'd recommend the one that your purchasing department is willing to pay for... |
