Ha ha ha ha! It seems the IBM docucenter was hacked.
"Exploit mode" refers to security vulnerability testing. Entering exploit mode means disabling the security safeguards to allow a successful exploit to compromise the system. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

No.
The words "64-Exploit" are used to describe a product edition which is a 64-bit program and exploits the 64-bit processor architecture. |

I find the dynamic docucenter extremely illiterate. The sparse comments are useless. Posting a link to the edition's readme that explains things would be much more helpful. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

I agree that the documentation needs to be updated.
My understanding is that it is in process of being updated.
I have provided the information I have available. |

So is that note saying RHEL 6 on x86-64 is only supported if the *WMB 8.0* software is installed / configured in this 64 bit exploit mode? Or is it referring to some O/S level setting that needs to be enabled? _________________ Peter Potkay

Again, "64-bit exploit" means that the software is 64-bit software that is written to run on a 64-bit platform and EXPLOIT the features of 64bit OSes and 64-bit hardware.
It's not a "mode" or a 'setting" or a 'configuration'.
It means, basically, that the 64-bit edition is not 32-bit software that does not take advantage of 64-bit processing.
It's a bad choice of word in the documentation. |

WMB 8.0.0.0 for Linux 86-64 is ready for 64 bit, the Linux x86-64 server is 64 bit (duh), so the two work together just fine, and this exploit comment is pointless?

No.
It means that you can't use the WMB 8.0.0.0 for Linux-x86 32-bit edition on Linux x86-64 server and be supported.
It means you have to use the 64-bit version of the product on the 64-bit OS. |

"you have to use the 64-bit version of the product on the 64-bit OS" makes sense.
"Only support in 64-Exploit mode” does not.
And the verb conjugation in that sentence is wrong. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks
