Mark E Taylor told people on here to contact him about these support pacs.

There is also no reason why a support pac has to come from IBM. I believe Paul did all this in his own time before, maybe he will keep doing it.

Has anyone worked out how to use the new graph feature on MO71? - it was added without documentation (Yes, I know Jeff - it's not that intuitive to use but it is amazing when you get there).

Telling peopel to contact him is not the same thing as saying "I will be continuing to support these".

The difficulty with Paul's supportPacs is that IBM owns the code to them, not Paul.

Paul presumably has plenty of time available to continue to support and maintain them, but is unable to do so since he does not own the code.

IBM presumably has people that can be assigned to support them, but there has to be sufficient reason to do, and sufficient justification to support the functions Paul's supportPacs provide *as standalone features*.

It is optimistic to expect that Mark Taylor will personally choose to continue to support Paul's work.

It is optimistic to expect that IBM will continue to support two entirely separate MQ management interfaces, written in two entirely separate programming languages with two entirely separate codebases.

We need an MO71 Fan Club where we can get a petition going for moving MO71 to a Cat 3 level of Support Pack.

If by support, you mean address minor bugs occasionally - I don't think it's unreasonable at all to hope for this.

It's never been officially supported like most support pacs. Plenty of "brownie points" for any keen IBM'er who might keep it ticking over (and the beers are on me at the next User Group).

I am happy to replace the word 'optimistic' with something that more directly reflects my personal opinion of the chances.

But let me express this in a different way.

Please dedicate your valuable time and energy into embracing change and forcing IBM to make MQ Explorer into a better tool to meet your needs.

In other words, more likely that Vitor will start a Java Fan Club?

You should see Vitor with his pom-poms and ra-ra skirt warming up the fans...

We were drunk, it was that one time and we said we'd never speak of it again....
