Hi,
This is not a technical query, but related to getting the EG Name. I need to get all the EG names for the puropose of documentation (and each EG name is a bit lengthy and there are about 25 to 30 EG's).
I do not have access to run any commands on the Broker server. I just can see the list of EG's and the flows under it using MB Explorer. My problem is, I am not able to copy each EG name, I do not see any properties for the EG in the MB Explorer. Is typying the complete EG name manually in the doc the only way to go about this?
Any other options?

Apologies if it is a silly suggestion, but my first instinct is that you would be easiest just asking the team who does have access to the broker server to give you this list. |

Or perhaps you can use Administration API and create your own documentation tool. |

Thanks for the suggestion. The problem is, we do not and there is a *process* behind to get the access or run a command, which I feel is too much for a 1/2hr documentation work.

I thought for getting the names of EG, the effort to build this tool is too much. But we are in process of doing it. But atleast there should be some properties displayed for each EG (which is done for Broker and Flows) is what I feel. |

Someone must have access to support the server? But as it is clearly a controlled environment then perhaps it would be easier to get the list from the build/deploy configuration files?
For your administration api script option. Have you tried just running the sample provided? Look for brokerinfo.java in the Info centre. |

You could set up a sudo rule to allow less privileged users to run the command. |

Thanks for all the suggestions. We have also thought about all these options and have also come up with a small tool using Adminstrative API to get the names, but the point is it would have been better if this option was in-built.
When we get the properties for Broker and Message Flow/Sets and other deployed objects, it would also be fair enough to display some properties of EG. Atleast the name, creation date/time. |

Sounds like a RFH to me. Post the link to gather votes.
It's still better practice to control and document such things at creation time than reverse engineer them later.

So 2 RFHs then. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I do not see what the Rules And Format Header version 2 has to do with this topic...
Perhaps you meant a Request For Enhancement?
