CONTEXT
install kit- CI7E3ML WebSphere Message Broker Toolkit V8.0.0.1 for Linux x86 1 Multilingual
OS- Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.2 (Santiago)
user- root
command1- [root@vlmmkhccsd2 IBMInstallationManager]# ./installc -nosplash --launcher.suppressErrors -acceptLicense -input mbtoolkit-silent.xml -silent
error- CRIMAE463F68DE ERROR: Error restoring Installation Manager state.
CRIMAE463F68DE ERROR: Installation data has incompatible version 1.4.4; expected [0.0.2,0.0.4]. Newer version of the Installation Manager was used on this system.
command2- [root@vlmmkhccsd2 disk1]# ./installToolkit-silent.sh
error- same as above
misc- i've already installed mq 7.5 and broker runtime (8.0.0.1) on this same machine without a problem. need the toolkit installed for builds.
================================================
based on google research thus far, this error implies i need to update my current install manager with a newer version, but v8001 toolkit already has InstallManager 1.4.4 which is the latest. Not sure i'm confortable with installing IM 1.4.3 as workaround..
any thoughts? |

thanks for the info. oddly, i get a very different exception message and "experience" from what is described in the technote. anyway, will apply the recommended 32-bit binaries. |

The correct selection of RPM/YUM Packages that are needed for a successful installation of WMB on Linux is a source of mystery to many people.
When I was using V7 on Linux, I created a kickstart file for RHEL 6.2 that would ensure that everything you needed was installed when the system was built. It took me several hours and quite a bit of experimenting to get it right.
This task is probably beyond many Linux developers and I have not updated the kickstart file for V8 so it is no longer correct but it is worth producing so that others in your organisation don't have to struggle in the same way that you do.
for example, WMQ Explorer needs the 32 bit version of the 'LibXP' package. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions. |
