We have a message flow that was developed without using a FTP configurable service definition to externalise the details of the destination server host name, pathname etc.
Without making any changes to this flow and without modifying the bar file and without any redeployment - would it be possible to make it use a configurable service by creating a configurable service definition of the same name as the "hard-coded" FTP server name (in the node properties)?
In other words does WMB try to match the server name in the configurable services before assuming it is an actual server name? I know that I can try it and see, but I wondered if anyone knew the answer?

I think I tried a similar thing in the past. I dont think config services names can contain the : character so it wouldn't work (although it might work if you are using the default ports!). But I believe you are right when you say it tries to match a config service name before assuming its a hostname.
